Kinetic Biofuel offers a complete concept for handling of straw from bales to briquettes for industrial scale biogas production based on straw and slurry.
The customized briquetting plants are offered with capacities from 0,5 ton per hour and upwards and the lines consists of a transport line for straw bales, a shredder for straw, a hammer mill, a filter or cyclone, a buffer system and/or a dosing silo and a briquetting press.

Straw preparation plant
The straw bales are placed on the transport line, which conveys the straw bales to the shredder, where the straw is cut into lengths of 50-150 mm.
After the shredder stones and other larger particles are removed(by a stone catcher/separator. The straw then enters into the special straw mill, where it is reduced to 10-20 mm long particles before entering the buffer silo through a filter or cyclone system. Sand is also removed in this process.
Quality of raw material
The best result will be when using wheat straw with a moisture content of 10-13%(max 15%). Higher moisture content will lead to expansion and deterioration of the briquettes.
Silo and dosing system
Level sensors in the silo or the buffer system sends a signal to the control system for automatic start of the briquetting press, when a sufficient level of straw in the silo has been reached. Signals from the level sensors will stop and start the transport line and the shredder automatically, in order to maintain sufficient level of straw in the silo. The entire system is automatically shut down if/when the transport line is empty.
